We are looking for an energetic, tech-savvy individual who is passionate about our mission to join our remote team as an intern! This is a paid internship position based in Singapore.

Community Intern

  • Working days: Flexible hours with minimum 24 hours per week, from May 2019 to July 2019

  • Location: Remote

Job scope:

  • Manage and grow a digital community of jobseekers from the following disadvantaged and vulnerable groups: people with disabilities, minority women, transgender people and others on Facebook and Mailchimp, which includes the Be Inclusive Job Network.

  • Gather feedback from these groups about their job-seeking experience to optimise our digital engagement strategy.

  • Work as part of our user engagement team led by our Head of Engagement Si-Min Chong.

  • Contribute to making the world a more inclusive place.

Our immediate goal is to create a thriving online community of diverse jobseekers who can provide peer support for each other. Ultimately our vision is to expand this community across the Greater Asia-Pacific region.

This is what you will need for the job:

  • Singaporean citizenship or permanent residency.

  • Experience or capabilities in using Facebook, MailChimp and other social media tools for audience engagement.

  • An outstanding track-record of working with disadvantaged groups to achieve a common goal.

  • First-hand experience on issues related to one or more of the following is essential: gender, sexuality, race or ethnicity or disabilities.

  • A passion for smartphone apps, social media and other digital tools.

  • Highly proficient communication skills in written and spoken English. Proficiency in Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin or other languages widely spoken in Singapore will be advantageous.

  • Honesty, maturity and professionalism enabling collaboration and negotiation within a diverse and inclusive environment.

  • Self-discipline and ability to deliver high quality results with minimal supervision.

  • Familiarity with sociopolitical environment in Singapore is essential. Knowledge of current affairs in Southeast Asia and other parts of the developing world is an advantage;

  • Familiarity with Be Inclusive’s portfolio of work an advantage.

  • Curiosity and passion for continual learning;.

  • Able to work independently, comfortable with working remotely and in flexible working hours arrangement; and,

  • Able to maintain productivity as a member of an international team that works remotely.
