How does Be Inclusive define an inclusive company?

We define inclusive companies as ones whose place of business are safe, accessible and welcoming of all employees and customers regardless of age, race, gender, disability, medical history, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion or cultural background.

How does Be Inclusive know if a company is inclusive?

We vet every company that joins our inclusive business registry. To join the registry companies: 1) pledge that their workplaces are safe, accessible and welcome workplaces; 2) demonstrate how their commitment has been put into action; and, 3) share information about the amenities that make their place of business accessible to diverse groups of employees and/or customers. Registration is voluntary for companies and renewed annually.

How did Be Inclusive develop its registration?

Our registry of inclusive companies was developed in close consultation with grassroots groups of people with disabilities, minority women, single parents, LGBTQ people, ethnic and racial minorities and other groups across Southeast Asia, Australia and the U.S.

What company data does Be Inclusive collect?

We collect data about the accessibility of your place(s) of business - ranging from wheelchair accessibility to child-friendliness to accessibility for transgender people. Currently, only self-reported data is collected. Third-party validation and certification services will be offered in the future.

How secure is our company data on Be Inclusive’s digital registry of inclusive businesses?

Companies have final approval of data published and distributed through our registry platform. Published data is distributed to the public through our community coalition. All data is stored securely in the cloud.

How can we communicate our values in markets where LGBTQ or other groups are criminalised?

Be Inclusive has found that a comprehensive approach to inclusion is the most defensible strategy in such markets when we show how inclusion benefits multiple segments in the community.
